MOOD

Technology has the ability to impact mental health,

specifically mood, in ways we can't always anticipate.

All that screen time, whether it be scrolling through social media, curled up on the couch watching a movie, or holding the controller for an exciting new video game, could be negatively impacting teens' daily mood and overall mental health condition.

First, let's identify the problem.

Another study

conducted in 2011

examined the mental

health conditions of

teenagers ages 13-18,

both male & female,

all of who fall right within

the age range that

technology use is at an

all-time high.

here's what

they found...

10,123

The two most common mental health conditions reported in this study were ODD and Depression.

But what's the point of all this?

We believe that it's important for teens to designate a few hours away from technology each week.

While it's nearly impossible to prove that the use of technology directly correlates with poor mental health and mood, there is strong evidence to suggest that the same age group is vulnerable in both categories.

It can't hurt to spend a few hours each week in a

tech-free environment, such as taking a walk in nature or doing some meditation right at home.
